The patented Beloxx software manages locking systems with individualized codes
Locks for furniture with the same level of security as used in financial institutions – Beloxx, developer of locking systems in Germany, invented TANmode for this very purpose. Locking systems using this software can only be opened via a transaction authentication number (TAN). With its automated random codes the system is similar to online banking. Beloxx improved this well-known system, implemented a high encryption of 256 bits and filed a patent on the system.
The medium-sized locking system company offers TANmode with its locks BeCode Evo and BeCode PAD. The Beloxx locking systems are keyless and require the entry of an individual code, either via a keyboard or a rotary knob. TANmode is especially useful for cabinets with changing users, because the intelligent system facilitates the administration. The size of the locking system and the number of locks that have to be managed is irrelevant. That is why TANmode is used in changing rooms, room safes and security cabinets. They are suitable for lockers in changing rooms, train stations and airports, offices with no fixed workplace assignment and lockers in public institutions, such as schools or public administrations. In case a code gets lost, the consequences are not as severe as in the case of a lost key. The administrator of the system can query the valid code without any difficulties and communicate it to the user or generate a new TAN.
TANmode enables the generation of a one-time password at the touch of a button: „The clients manage their locking system via web interface. In this way, they can generate TANs and send them to the users via text message or email. The lengths of the TAN can be set individually. However, for security reasons, the code must consist of at least four digits. Depending on the client’s needs, the client can decide whether she/he wants to generate a code for one-time or multiple use. We think that this system is the contemporary solution for more security,“ says Matthias Blunck, one of the Beloxx CEOs, about TANmode.
